Recipient of 10 commendations as a Firearms Identification expert at the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC.

Recipient of 5 Meritorious Awards from the Department of Justice, United States Attorneys Office in Washington DC.

Recipient of Commendations from 4 different Commanders and 2 Chiefs of Police while a member of the Firearms Examination Unit at the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC.

As the Manager of the Firearms Examination Unit at the Department of Forensic Science, Mr. Watkins played an integral role in the Firearms Examination Unit ISO 17025 FQS Accreditation.

Quality Assurance

As Lead Firearms Examiner at the Montgomery County Department of Police in Rockville, Maryland, Mr. Watkins was responsible for the Firearm Examination Unit receiving ASCLD Accreditation.

As the Quality Assurance Manager at the Department of Forensic Science, Mr. Watkins spearheaded the successful ISO accreditation of the Forensic Science Units and the Public Health Laboratory, which received its CLIA certification.

Mr. Watkins was a member of the ANAB Forensic Accreditation Assessment Team, having assessed several Forensic Laboratories in the US and Mexico.

Mr. Watkins was a member of the A2LA Forensic Accreditation Assessment Team, having assessed several Forensic Laboratories throughout the US.
